Converting from NZ to AUS licence.

Hi. I realise that under the agreement that only current ratings are automatically recognised when converting from CAA to CASA licence. My CPL is current but my Instructor Rating is not. Is it possible to convert the licence now as it is and then do my currency for the Instructor Rating after moving to Aus? Does that make sense?
Oh and if you have the three IFR exams passed in NZ, do you need to sit them again in Aus if you haven't finished the rating yet and intend to do so in Aus?
