JAA Examiner in Australia

I am an English pilot with a JAA frozen ATPL and have been flying in Africa for the last 2 years on a CPL with ME-IR (ICAO). My JAA MEP class rating and IR lapsed as of October 2009 and I am looking to renew it.

I understand from LASORS (IR renewals), that as I have a current ICAO ME class rating and IR the renewal requirements are based on the expiry of the Class rating and IR on that licence. I therefore understand that a combined re-validation test flight with a JAA examiner in a multi engine a/c is all that is required for the renewal of my MEP-IR on my JAA licence.

I am travelling to Australia for a family wedding and will be there until 11th January and am looking for a JAA Examiner to do this with in Oz if poss.

The JAA Examiner at WAAC is not able to help as he is a ME/CRE and I would only be able to renew my ME and not my IR with him. I need a CRE/IRR FE anyone know of anyone?

Thanks

I think Mike Gill in Adelaide was the only IRE but may well have retired by now. Why not just renew the MEP Class rating, that will keep your JAA licence going. If you don't intend to exercise the privileges of the JAA IR why waste money renewing it? So long as you have an ICAO IR the JAA one can easily be renewed when required, the 7 year rule does not apply whilst you hold an ICAO IR. In any event, the most relevant thing you need to have a JAA licence reissued after 5 years is a JAA Class 1 Medical.

Whoppity, thanks for your response. Do you happen to know how I can contact Mike Gill or which school he was linked too? Thanks

CTC in Hamilton New Zealand has one current IRRE working for them. They're on Google...

Cheers,
