Enqiry re Eileen Steenson PNG, Instructor OZ
Someone was asking the whereabouts of his old flight instructor, Eileen Steenson (Ranolds). In the research for my book of Australian women pilot "firsts", First Females Above Australia, I have found that Eileen is now 94 and in a retirement home at Pelican Waters, Queensland. Is stone deaf but still has all her marbles! She was a most revered Instructor and wrote her book Flight Plan PNG, about her interesting aviation career in that region. Eileen Steenson died Caloundra 21 August 2010
For those who remember Eileen Steenson (Ronalds) as an instructor (CFI Albury) and an early charter pilot in PNG from 1965, she died peacefully at age 95 in Caloundra Queensland on August 21, 2010. A wonderful person, and a great pilot. Enjoy your peace, Eileen.
