Log book query?

Hi all,

Just a quick one, is it a requirement to record the students name in the instructors log book ie remarks section?

Do you record it ?

It's not a requirement, although most instructors record it anyway, along with the exercise number, for there own benefit.

As stated, it is not a legal requirement listed in Article 35 however, if you wish to claim the experience towards revalidation of your FI rating, how does a examiner identify instruction if the relevant details are not there?

I have a section in my log book titled instructor where I record the time as PIC/instructor.

Thanks for the replies, just wondered what actual details fellow instructors entered. I will enter surname and exercise completed

It also allows for you to quite quickly recreate a students log book when the plaintiff phone call arrives after the license application has gone bounce from the CAA.
