Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Cabair pay their PPL instructors a basic salary of £ 1,000 pcm NET of tax and NI (about £ 1,300 pcm Gross).

This includes the first 20 hours of instruction pcm - after that instruction is paid at £ 25.75 per hour gross for PPL, £ 30 per hour for Night and IMC, £ 35 per hour for MEP. Ground school is paid at some ridiculous figure like £ 5.75 per hour so most people avoid it unless the WX prevents any flying as it would be crazy to lose your flying slots for £ 5.75 per hour.
