Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Flight Instructor book Reccommendations and FI(A) syllabus.

Just wondered if anyone has any reccommendations for Flight Instructor books? well apart from the "Flight Instructors Manual" by R.D. Campbell. Just wondered if there are any more upto date manuals, as I know it has been out for a while.

Also does anyone have an outline of the FI syllabus? and what kind of things I am going to expect during the course.

Thanks in advance!...

Ontrack

Is the place where we received our FI manuals from.

It tells you how to demo exercises 4-19. What you need to emphasize on for each one. Speed, height, etc.

I don't know the campbell ones.

Ontrack's manual costs 20 I think. Without the BINDER. DO NOT buy with the binder as it increases the cost quite a bit.

For the course you'll need to polish up on aerodynamic, met etc. A bit of air law.

Angel Flight instructors hand book

For my money the RAF publication A.P. 3225 Instructors handbook of Flying Training is the best there ever will be.
There is no bull**** or any why am I getting stressed out nonsense in it, just the good Old fashioned way of getting the job done properly.
They are hard to come by, but they can be opbtained.
