Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Wink Questions

Hi,

This is my first post so go easy.

I have used the search but couldnt find anything that is recent to answer my questions.

Ok... i want to work in aviation, as an instructor. I am good at teaching people things, calm and would love the knowledge that i have helped people pursue their dream. I have no intention whatsoever to go to the airlines. I am 30, wife and 2 kids (3 and 1), private renting with no intention of buying just yet.

I went up in a helicopter and a cessna just to make sure which one i want to do for a living. I liked the helicopter but LOVED the cessna, so its airplanes i wanna do.

1: I know i have to get the PPL, then hour build and then CPL, but i have been told they may be aboloshing the need for CPL. Is this true?

2: Is microlight instructing better paid? , if so is it as dangerous as people make out compared to clas a aircraft?

3: What sort of wage do you think i could be looking at after 3 years of instructing? I would be willing to train for more qualifications.

Many Thanks

Matt
