PPL ground examination pass rates

A quick question.

Clearly for CPL and ATPL courses there are published written examination pass rates for each school, and it's not all that hard from there to determine overall pass rates.

What I'd like to know either for everybody, or just one or two notable schools, what the rate of first time passes is for the JAR-FCL PPL examinations. Does anyboday have any stats, or is able to point me at any stats that I can get at?

Back inb the days when AOPA administered PPL examiners they had a system of pink chits where the examiner sent his returns in. What happened to them was uncertain. Since the CAA started to administer examiners around 1995 there have been no stats collected except for RTF Examiners.

Every exam failure requires the examiner to submit a Form 252 so in theory they could be counted however; I don't think many examiners actually send them in!

We have a book....

....with the results in. From memory, they're pretty good at our place as, (probably like everywhere else) we have mock-up papers which the candidate had to pass well before they're allowed anywhere near the real ones.

I'll do some maths in my downtime and advise later.
