JAA PPL right seat
I have a situation where my friend from USA is coming to Europe. He has FAA PPL. He doesn't want to loose any time with switching his licence to JAA. I have JAA PPL, so can he fly on the left seat, with me on the right seat. My position should be called "safety pilot". What should I do to be able to fly with him on the right seat and how is that recognized in the log book?

The Right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing
A FAA PPL is able to fly a UK registered aeroplane using the privileges of his ICAO FAA licence.
Unless you are a Flight Instructor (or TRI, CRI) then you are nothing but a passenger. There is nothing to log.

Whilst the UK is part of Europe, UK rules do not extend accross Europe so Article 26 will not apply and the FAA licenced pilot may need a validation depending upon which country we are talking about.
