Airex Codes

Many years ago I did my initial training and we used a shorthand code in our logbooks for the various air exercises we did (I think 18 was cross country). I believe that they were a throwback to the CFS syllabus. Does anyone have the decodes stashed away up in some dusty attic so I can work out what I did 29 years ago!

Regards

For those operating in the UK, Appendix 8 of Standards document 10A probides the definitive list.

When I was taught to fly in 1962 by Charles Cockburn/Digby Docherty/Bernie Warman/Dick Gliddon to name a few of the Southend Flying School's instructors (also in G-AJUE/G-AGTX/G-AIZY) Stalls were Ex9, Spinning Ex10, Circuits Ex11/12 and first solo Ex13, the rest are also 1 number low, I don't know where the extra exercise was slotted in but I have a copy of the BLAC Instructors manual dated 1965 which has the exercises listed as they are now.

But it has been modified to align with the revised JAA numbering system of 9 years ago not 29 years ago. The original list is in CAP 528 last published in 1987; if you can find one.
