Spoke to someone i know who has good contacts with MSF and apparently they looked at Barton and it wasn't worth it.

MAPLC obviously want to get rid of MSF as they could of found space to relocate on the airfield.

MSF have been at MAN for 25 years, end of an era, and probably the end of GA at MAN

Very sad news but inevitable really given the expansion in commercial air travel. Does Claire Hatton still work there? One must say she wrote a brilliant book for the aspiring flight instructor - highly recommended reading for anyone serious about entering the flight training world.

My thoughts go out to all those affected.

I understand the AVGAS supply is also being withdrawn from Manchester, so JD may have to look for a new home..

Sad News for GA at manch

Sad News for GA at manch, the airport will make monies with the 380 bringing all the passengers through the duty free shops profit always comes first they have to think of the share holders. (so
i get told)

It is very sad to see the end of MSF and as a owner of a cirrus based there i feel the days for GA are gone, how can you have an airport with out avgas i wonder how long it will take the goverment to work out that no flying schools no future pilots to fly into manch
