Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Q's about instruction in the Isles.

Hi there!

Just some questions, some have probably been covered elsewhere, but I didn't find them so bear with me...

1. Have a Norwegian CPL, can I do a CFI certificate in any JAA country, or do I have to stay in Norway?
2. If I do it in Norway, can I work as a CFI in any JAA country ( like Ireland), and would I get a job with a foreign licence?
3. Is it similar to the US system with a CFI for PPL and CPL, CFII for IR and CFMI (or something, never got that one), for multi?
4. How long will the different certificates take me, and how much would they be (hope to be able to do it full time).
5. What kind of salary can I expect in the UK/Ireland?

Currently have CPL IR/ME and ATPL theory, plus expired FAA CFI/CFII.

Thanks!
