Teaching ME/IR and CPL

Searched the threads on here and cant find anything on what I want so I will ask.
I am thinking of becoming an IRI, had a look through Lasors07 for the requirements and found that, of course, I had to jump through one or two hoops. 800 hrs IFR needed for a start (I thought this was 200 but there you go.) and attend an approved course.
Can anyone recommend a IRI course?

You don't need an IRI course. IRI is a standalone rating. If you are an FI now all you need is to have the 'no applied instrument instruction' restriction removed (that's a bit of a mouth full). That still doesn't make you an IRI though.

Course for the instrument rating instructor rating (Aeroplane) (IRI(A))

1 The aim of this course is to train aeroplane licence holders to the level of proficiency necessary for
the issue of an IRI(A) rating. The course shall be designed to give the applicant adequate training in
ground and flying instructional techniques based upon established teaching methods.
TEACHING AND LEARNING
2 Syllabus is set out in AMC FCL 1.395. An approved IRI(A) Teaching and Learning course shall
comprise not less than 25 hours. Pilots holding or having held one of the following ratings are credited for
the IRI(A) Teaching and Learning part of the IRI course:
FI(A), CRI(A), TRI(A), SFI(A), STI(A), MCCI(A)
FI(H), TRI(H),SFI(H)
Pilots holding a IRI(H) who meet the requirements set out in JAR-FCL 1.395(a) are credited of the course
except for the “Long Briefing 2”, “Air Exercise 2” and Skill Test.
FLIGHT TRAINING
3 An approved IRI(A) course shall comprise not less than 10 hours or 5 hours in the case of a FI(A) of
flight training on an aeroplane, flight simulator or FPNT II.
SKILL TEST
4 On completion of the course, the applicant shall take the skill test in accordance with Appendices 1
and 2 to JAR FCL 1.330 & 1.345.

The plan

The plan is to be a 'career instructor' if you like. Teaching students towards the ME/IR and CPL at a commercial school somewhere, and I am looking for the shortest and cheapest route there. So being an FI already exempts me from any teaching and learning courses? but in the FCL extract below it says I need 5hrs (point 3).
It seems to me like I need the 'no applied instr' restriction removed which involves the below. Point d refers to a course. To do this on multi I am looking at a ME CRI too and another course.
If all else fails I could always call the fuzz at Gatwick

Removal of No Applied Instrument
Restriction

a. Hold either a valid single pilot, Instrument Rating
(IR(A)) or Instrument Meteorological Conditions
(IMC) Rating.
b. Hold a valid FI(A) with Supervisory Restriction
removed

c. Have flown at least 200 hours flight time in
accordance with Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), of
which up to 50 hours may be instrument ground
time in an approved flight simulator or FNPT II.
Where pilots have recorded flight by sole
reference to instruments and not under IFR then
1 hour of flight by sole reference to instruments
may be counted as 4 hours flight by IFR. Where
pilots wish solely to instruct for the IMC Rating a
reduced experience level of 10 hours flight time
by sole reference to instruments is applicable
and;
d. Complete an approved course comprising at
least 5 hours dual flight training on instruments in
an aeroplane, flight simulator or FNPT 2 and 10
hours of theoretical training. All training to be
conducted by FIC Instructor qualified to conduct
instrument training at an approved FIC FTO

e. Pass the relevant elements of a FI Skill Test in a
single pilot aeroplane with a suitably qualified
FIE(A)

In addition, for the issue of an IR(A) multi-engine
aeroplanes the instructor shall meet the
requirements of JAR-FCL 1.380(a) (see Section
H3.3)

H3.3

CRI(SPA) COURSE FOR MULTI-ENGINE
CLASS RATING

An applicant for the issue of a CRI(SPA) rating for
multi-engine aeroplanes shall have:
a. A valid Multi-Engine Piston (Land) Class or
Single Pilot Multi-Engine Type Rating.
b. Completed at least 500 hours flight time as pilot
of aeroplanes

c. Completed at least 30 hours as PIC on the
applicable type or class of aeroplane prior to
commencing the course

. It should be noted that
ME SPIC time is not allowable towards this 30
hours requirement.
d. Completed an approved course at an approved
FTO or TRTO including at least five hours flight
instruction on the aeroplane or a flight simulator
given by an instructor approved for this purpose
(see Appendix 1 to JAR-FCL 1.380 and AMC
FCL 1.380); and 25 hours* teaching and learning
theoretical knowledge training.
e. Passed the relevant elements of a FI Skill Test in
a single pilot, multi-engine
