Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Instructing in USA / Abroad

Hi Guys,

Currently serving Navy Officer here. Bored to tears, ex-aircrew and with a PPL. Seriously thinking of doing CPL followed by FI(R) and then taking a year career break instructing (pref somewhere sunny!!!).

Any of you fine people know if it is possible to get the JAA CPL/FI(R) here in blighty and then instruct in the States or other destinations (S.Africa etc). Any of you been there and got the T-shirt?

Look forward to the mountain of replies.....

Cheers

MFWF

Try Bristow Flight Academy in Florida for JAA CPL/H (and FAA if you want it) & FI(R). If they like your face you may get to instruct there as well.

'mustflywillfly' is an Aussie serving his military term. You are advising to working in States? You must be kidding!

Most U.S. flight schools are reluctant or unwilling to sponsor H1-B VISA to foreigners. So, to secure a CFI job (holding H1B VISA) is out of option to anybody.

Strange! the previous and current Heads of JAR training, two ground instructors and at least one pilot now working for Bristows instructed at HAI/ Bristow Flight Academy, all Brits.
