PPL training hours

Have got a student who started ppl training and done approx 30 hours about 20 years ago and stopped.He now has starred again and I am wondering if any of this previous training can count ?

of course. its all in his/her log book.it's all flight experience.

now from a practical point of view do'nt regard the student as having 20 hours RECENT experience...they wo'nt have lost it all ...and depending on the aptitiude of the student you will have to start again but it may come back quickly or slowly.
