Transfer of CAA MULTI rating to FAA Certificate

I have british Private License with Instrument and Multi Engine Ratings (200+ hours Multi time). I also have non restricted FAA Private Cert with Single Engine & Instrument.
I have downloaded from FAA website Form 8710 (Airman Certificate and/or Rating Application) which seems to suggest on the form that without any reqirement for training or test the FAA will add to my FAA Private certificate the Multi rating on the basis that I am already the holder of a foreign license which has this rating. Can anyone confirm if I am right in this assumption as this would alleviate the need to do a checkride/oral test.
