UK JAA FI rating for Irish IAA license

Hey guys and gals,

I have a situation as follows:-....

I have just completed a UK JAA FI rating in the UK, but have since got a job with an Irish airline that requires my JAA license to be converted to an IAA (Irish) one.

My question is... do I have to first add this rating to my UK JAA license before converting to the IAA or could I convert my license to IAA and then add my UK JAA FI rating afterwards??????

I look forward to your replies!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Andy

P.S. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!!!

In theory there should be no problerm either way however, if you put the FI rating on your UK JAA licence then there is no possibility of any "complications" when you convert it.

however, if you put the FI rating on your UK JAA licence .........
.....then the UK CAA get an extra 105 pounds to spend on themselves.

I'd check with the IAA before spending any money at Gatwick.

I have looked on the IAA website and in comparison to the CAA website it is pretty poor.

Just wondering Andy, what is the chance of getting an IAA instructor form and getting your examiner to fill it in - after all it should be all compatible. Keep us posted how it goes.

Also as an extra - I'm converting my licence to the IAA from UK CAA. Will I still be restricted, is there a form for solo sign offs?
