Requirements to teach IMC

I'm an FI and have decided to make things a little more interesting by teaching instrument flying. The minima according to Lasors are that you must have 200hrs of instrument flight time logged, however if the flying you have logged is by sole reference to instruments then each hour flown maybe counted as four flying hours, suggesting that the total amount required is only 50hrs. For I/R training and renewals I have 80hrs I/F logged. What I would like to know is whether I have enough hours logged to begin the training or not?

Thanks guys.

To teach IMC you only need 10 hours IF. The words that say this are well hidden and even the CAA can struggle to find the correct legislation sometimes. You only need the 200 hours to teach the IR.

Do the rating, its great. You get to fly on poor days and your own IF gets much better. The only downside I found of having the IMC inst rating is you miss out on the trips to the greasy spoon when its raining.

For a bit of spice go and do the Aeros instructor course as well.
