Hi
I have been taught both, always dispose, and pour it back into the tank if it is clear of water and contamination.

I do feel that there is a safety issue being missed here and I believe that this has happend. When disposing the fuel it must be done away from the aircraft. It is possible a flame or two to pop out of the exhaust during start up. This could easily catch the fuel you just carelessly disposed off on the ground in the vicinity of the exhaust pipe, and before you know it you and your plane are sitting on a fire....... ooops

All the best
