calculating distance using lat' and long'
Back in the stone age when I was training to an atco I was taught how to calculate distance using the lat' and long of two different places.
If both places are in the North or Southern hemisphere, the calculation is relatively simple, but I can't remember the procedure if one is in one hemisphere and one in the other.
Is there a web site which will do the calculation?
It's in response to a question asked in a national newspaper.
All sources acknowledged.
