Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

FI course at Tayside Aviation??

Iam hoping to start an FI course in the early part of next year. As I'm doing my CPL/IR at Perth, I was hoping to do the FI course with Tayside Aviation.

Anyone completed the course recently and can provide me with feedback as to the quality of their training or their experiences with them??

Cheers, Muppetheed.

Not done the FI course but did CPL with Tayside and found them exceptionally good. Sandy is an excellent instructor who I couldn't fault in any way, a view I know is shared by everyone I know who he has taught.
I know two people who have done the FI course with him and their opinion was the same.
Not sure how busy they are right now. Tayflite bent their Arrow so Tayside may well be picking up some extra CPL business.

Cheers

Thumbs up

As mentioned you won't go far wrong at Tayside. They have the RAF Scholarship contract and so if you do reasonably well on the course you will be well placed to get a job there with lots and lots of work for the next few years at least. See their website and look at the news page.

Yes, you could do a lot worse than training with Tayside.

I did most of my training with them, Sandy who teaches the FIC is a good and patient instructor, also if you train with them the chances are that they will offer you a job also. I had a great two years working for them. (the pay is not great though)

regards

Sandy's the man

Instructors course is a must at Tayside,Sandy Torrance will get you through the course and will go that extra mile to help you out.

very good teacher and patient and if you don't know the answer to the question be honest about it and he will help you out.

good luck.
