low flying rule changes

Whats all this fuss about the low flying rule being changed.

As far as efatos are concerned so long as the instructor is careful and avoids p,v,v and s there should be no problem performing efatos. If the airfield surrounds are congested then they have to be done else where, off field.

We seem to have managed for years without too much problem, the Caa accepting the difficulties envolved in trying to provide this training.

Yes i did find having to fly at not below 1500 feet over built up areas hard to understand, making it 1000 feet seems to have cleared up that misunderstanding. Now we will have complaints from villagers as aircraft transit at 1000 feet, the pilot claiming s/he can glide clear.

Flight from gatherings from 3000 feet er 1000m to 1000 feet. That will be easy to remember, same as above.

And how come helicopters do not have to abide by the land clear rule?
Surely if they have an engine failure they more or less come straight down!
