Question Student pilot licence

Looking at the new JAR medical it no longer states (as far as I can see) that it acts as a student pilots licence. Have I missed something in JARs in that a student now needs a seperate piece of paper or is it just the authorities being economical with words?

Unhappy

As you say there is little reference to a Student Pilot Licence however Subpart B to JAR-FCL requires a student pilot to have a valid Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate.

JAR-FCL 1.080 (d)(2)requires all student pilots to carry a log book of their flying hours on all cross country solo flights to veryfy that their flights have been authorised by an instructor.

Para (c) (4) implies that instructors should sign off student log books.

looks like the FAA system!
