Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Thumbs down Dodgy 'dogs

Any one interested in buying a Bulldog at the Philips auction should note the aircraft Fatigue Index with great care. Although the RAF might have accepted an extension to 116 FI, word is that BAe have not approved this. An expensive and currently unavailable modification programme will be needed to give high FI aircraft any useful life.

The 2 to be concerned about are XX523 and XX616 which are over the 114 FI limit. The full list is:

XX523 115.98 FI
XX616 115.75 FI

XX561 113.13 FI
XX667 108.82 FI
XX630 108.31 FI
XX551 92.39 FI

Doesn't make them look particularly good bargains, no matter how nicely they fly!!

Wink

A Bulldog is like your mistress. Get inside her four times a day and take her to heaven and back. Woof Woof! But you can't afford to keep her.
