Flying Instructors & Examiners A place for instructors to communicate with one another because some of them get a bit tired of the attitude that instructing is the lowest form of aviation, as seems to prevail on some of the other forums!

Unhappy Expired twin rating

My light twin (B) rating has "expired" as I have done no light twin flying since May 1997. I hold an FAA multi rating also. Can anyone tell me the best way to re-validate the CAA one and what the annual currency requirements are. My twin IR has also expired as I am now flying on a "type specific" IR and I am considering getting the twin IR re-validated - what are the new currency requirements for that. Will I need to do another "inital" test with a CAA examiner? Should I revalidate my FAA ones first (in the USA). My last IR test was in a single, to renew the twin IR and I would guess at it being in September 1996.
