Isn't the Gazelle a helicopter?
I do recall a Bantam (New Zealand designed microlight trainer) that lost an aileron cable with a solo student in the circuit last year. He landed successfully, mainly by using the rudder as a secondary roll control - no further damage (to the credit of both student and instructor).

I have had aileron probs as in totaly jammed solid whilst Victor Mike on top during an aerobatic training session. It made for an interesting return let down app. and landing but not as bad as loosing elevator control. Just remember to use your feet wonderful thing a rudder. Mind you if its detached or partialy could be a bigger problem !!Oh the cause of the problem a lose bolt lodged between chain and sprocket of controls.Spose Icould of tried wrenching at the stick but at the time it didnt seem a good idea.
