Question Time limit between CPL theory and FI course?

I am thinking of taking the FI rating. However I am unable to obtain a class 1 medical, i understand i can take the CPL theory and then do the FI course. I will then be able to instruct unpaid.

Considering the above, my question is, is there a time limit between completion of the CPL theory exams and start or completion of the FI course?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help?

P.S. I have read LASORS but cant find the answer.

Time limit

I had always thought that the time limit was 36 months? Is this not applicable for the FI course??

Slider,

The 36 months is if you want to actually have a CPL issued. For instruction you only need to have passed the CPL exams at some point in your life.

Now, anyone know if 36 months is from the first pass or the completion of the full set of exams.

36 months from the final exam passed. If you've done the ATPL exams then you also have to do the IR in that time!
