Load Cases

Things tend to be getting rediculous these days with the number of load cases assessed for recent projects numbering into the thousands.

I understand in the past aircraft have been designed on the basis of 32 or so load cases.

Do you really think we are achieving any significant improvements in design by assessing such vast quantities of load cases.
