RADAR Technology

I am conducting research into RADAR technology and am seeking information regarding RADAR layout, modes of operation etc, mainly for F18/F22 type A/C. Can anyone aid me in this pursuit. I would also like to 'create' a simulated RADAR screen and incorporate this into MS Flight Sim with the view of changing/updating certain modes and performing inital test variations.
