History of Civil aircraft certification in France

Does anybody know the date the DGAC was first formed or whether there were any earlier certification organisations in France?

The DGAC was created in 1976, out of a reorganisation of the Secrétariat Général à l'Aviation Civile et Commerciale (SGACC). The SGACC was formed just after WW2.
