A380 evac.

Hi there!
Is anyone able to tell me if they have already done the A380 evac test yet? If not does anyone know when it will be and how you can volunteer?

Hmm, I'm sure I read something about that this week at work. I think it might be in the last copy of flight? Certainly the evac tests are iminent, and they are looking for around 1000 folks to jump out of it!

i think flight international also said that volunteers were being drawn from "sports clubs". so that's all right then.

1000 peeps to jump out in 90 seconds with only 50% of the emergency exits available......should be fun to watch - call the ambulance!!

Could probably finance it by inviting film and TV crews to pay to come and film it. I'd have thought hollywood could think of a few entertaining uses for that, as could discovery channel.

Something like that happened when (NASA?) crashed a (737?) under remote control a few years ago in the name of crashworthiness research.
