Jetplan 23JAN02
Is there anyone out there who is having a interesting time trying o file flight plans via Jetplan??
I've just run a plan and its taken the system nearly a whole 10mins for it to ACK. Has anyone tried filing via SITA or AFTN. Are they the same?? |
You're lucky with 10mins!! - Glad we ran most of ours early, as it's dead slow and stop at the moment....
|
Aparently the system has just crashed but should be up and runing very shortly.
Patience is a virtue on a nightshift! |
ITS OKAY THOUGH.
WE'VE HAD THE FOOTIE KEEPIN IS COMPANY TONIGHT. IN THE LAST THREE HOURS I'VE MANAGED TO FILE A GRAND TOTAL OF 4 FLIGHT PLANS THATS OKAY THOUGH COS I'M HERE TIL 7AM. LUCKY ME!!! |
Ooops found the caps lock
|
If you've got acces to Jetplan.com, it's running a bit faster but not sending via Sita etc. BUT, you can still LDR the plan no you run in Jetplan.com on Jetplan interactive and file via AFTN and send via Sita that way - bit of a hassle but better than nothing!!!
|
...of course, if you don't have access, you're still goosed! - time to go, I'm getting bored....!

Thanks for that.
Plans are all in now. Took a bit of time but got there in the end. Cheers |
It's a pile off C*** it took me 8hrs of my 12 hour shift to all the flight plans.
|
Yesterday, Jeplan.com was down for a few hours.. .Reliability isn't really perfect....
|
It's a pile of **** at the best of times http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/pcangry.gif When are we getting Sita Graflite ???? http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/banghead.gif

I've been using Navtech Aurora and it does a good job, anybody else have good luck with it, besides the auto-fax function (grrrr!)?
My current employer had Jetplan for yrs and it gave them fits. |
VIKING9. . . I guess you wouldn’t, but frankly I’d miss the ability to manipulate my own route, store it in my own route catalogue without having to ring someone or send them a telex, select my own preferred alternate and not have to use one that’s stored. I’d also miss pretty quick calculation times and I reckon our crews would certainly miss being out by +/- 1 min on a 10 hour sector. Still, if you’re into pretty pictures, why not try FHM magazine . . .
PS: I’d stick to ‘long boats’ if I were you, you obviously know b*gg*r all about aircraft . . . . |
You Surly cant be using any Jeppesen system I have ever used...........Cos they arn`t that good.

airfixer - all I want is a system that produces the goods when I want it, and at the required specification. I first used Jepps in 1992 and it's been cr@p since then, and it's not user input failure to produce good results. It's not designed for the ad-hoc market in my opinion.
As for not knowing anything about aircraft, well you would be surprised what knowledge I have. You are beginning to sound like Lalapanzi (god help us) |
Viking9. .Although I am not doubting your aviation experience, have you actually had the misfortune to use Graflite, because I find it the most awkard, restrictive system that I have ever used
|
Yep, I have used Graflite in it's old form and current and have found it user friendly for flights around Europe aswell as world-wide and for aircraft ranging between Bae146's and B747's. It's a matter of opinion I feel.
Also, talking of Jepps as we were before, how many UK charter airlines (ad-hoc aswell) use Jepps ?? |
Viking9. .I can think of at least 2 of the major uk charters that use jepp.. .But how many uk airlines use graflite ??

Please explain to me why JAS produces routes like this as a "J"
EGLL1000. .N0437F250 DCT SAM DCT CPT UB295 BPK. .EGKK0042 lets adjourn for lunch and think about this shall we. |
AirOpsOne - I'd suggest ask your boss if you can go on a jetplan course, cos you're obviously in need of a bit of training on the system
