Air Atlantique

Could anyone please provide any details they have regarding the company? I may have an interview lined up working in OPS on the ATR fleet and would love to hear any relevant information.

Cheers

Ops job at AAG is essentially fire-fighting.

Gone are the days of the last minute charter when you wondered whether your head will actually explode. A lot of the work the ATR's and Metro do now is ACMI, so it's a case of keeping on top of flight plans, liaising with the charterers regarding routes, flight planning and organising crewing and HOTAC.

On top of this you will flight watch and work with the Reconaissance fleet too (mainly filing flight plans for MCA and getting WX and NOTAMS).

There's a brief outline - PM me if you want any more info.

Cheers and good luck.

5150 is spot on. Mind you there is only 2 working in ops, trying to cover 24/7 and have heard one is leaving next month, please feel free to PM me, as can pass more info as well, for your interview.

Does Mr Kuspert still work with them or has he moved on

Boba 29th Jun 2006 18:03

Mr Kuspert is still at CVT, working for Atlantic Airlines, not Air Atlantique.

Space_odyssey 29th Jun 2006 22:47

Air Atlantique Operations

24 hour ops to support the 24 hour operation.
Consists of at least an ops officer & ops assistant at any one time.
Crewing dept & Commercial dept during normal office hours.

Ops Assistant

2 weeks classroom training

Ops Officer:

2 months classroom training to include JAA regs - Flight planning, Duty Limitations, ops procedures e.t.c.

1 month on the job training with ops supervisor (Line Training)

Ops Supervisor

Promotion after 1 year as ops officer

Ops Manager

Promotion of ops supervisor when vacancy available

Then there`s the crewing dept & Commercial dept liasing closely with operations.

Oh sorry, must have been dreaming, here we go:

18 hour ops to support the 24 hour operation.
Consists of someone sitting at a desk manning the phone.
Crewing dept yet to exist & Commercial dept open during normal office hours.

Ops Assistant

Doesn`t exist

Ops Officer:

Couple of days watching some guy file flight plans.

Ops Supervisor

Could consist of anybody happenning to be in the office at the time.

Ops Manager

Whoever it says on the last edition of the AOC postholder section.

Crewing Department

Whats a crewing department?

But of course we`re still classed as the best ACMI / Charter operator in the industry, aren`t we ?

Here`s a list of phrases that may help you get through the interview:

Fudge
Reduced Rest
Discretion
Position
Self Drive
Just go VFR
Is your MEP still valid
But it`s not classed as public transport
You`ve now got 2 EDO`s (starting yesterday)
It`s the Atlantic Way

So hope that helps, just a quick insight of what to expect. Like 5150 said, it`s fire-fighting, but the best bit about it is the crews , they`re awesome !

Sounds like you`re missing ops 5150 !

bacardi walla 30th Jun 2006 07:11

So how come the ops/crewing functions of Atlantic + Antique are not combined  2 seperate AOC's maybe, but that surely doesn't stop a combination of duties.

I suspect the salaries at Antique will put people off applying, especially those who may not live in the area. Anyone any clues about salaries on offer

5150 30th Jun 2006 08:03

Space:

Hilarious as usual!

You did forget the following keywords:

What's a roster?
We can't give you the leave you requested nine months ago.
What do you mean you're leaving?

Cya later !

bacardi walla 30th Jun 2006 08:24

:D I guess someone will apply. Not me though. :ok:

Harrier46 30th Jun 2006 09:06

Missed another one ....

Never forget the "sharp pencil"

Just another student 2nd Jul 2006 11:33

Well I have got an interview confirmed for this week. I'll go down with an open mind and see what is on offer. I just hope that a total re-structure of the department is on hand and that the road forward is bright.

I can sympathize with the staffing problems, we have been looking for experienced Ops guys for months and just can't get any, day time only, small freindly company and all that and no takers with any experience at all.

Phil

Just another student 3rd Jul 2006 18:21

Phil,

I take it that you currently work for the company?

Phil Brockwell 3rd Jul 2006 18:27

No, I'm saying how hard it is to get Ops staff for my outfit, let alone for a 24hr manned Op

Phil

Just another student 3rd Jul 2006 18:34

Phil......I see, sorry for the confusion.

In the event of not being successful, does anyone know of any other airlines who are looking for ops staff / flight planners etc ?

Cheers

I'm afraid Mr PB is not very forthcoming. He's either a very busy man or doesn't come on here that often or both :ugh:

I've PM'd him twice and have had no replies.

PB if you do get them, the offer is still open.
