Work Experience
Hi I am in year 10 and I have to find my own work experience. I was wondering if any airlines/airport would or could accept me, I live in Greenwitch so EGLC, EGKK, EGLL are the airports I have in mind. I dont mind what it is but if possible Disbatch. some thing out on the apron. If any one could give me any contact numbers or web site address or just point me in the right dirrection that would be excellent.
Thanks David Lucas (14)

I have thought long and hard about a "reply", BUT,
Look at your post in "TAF".
THESE are the people that you could [possibly] be working with.
we aim to please, it keeps the cleaners happy

You will, for most airlines, need a formal introduction and request from your school or college. Insurance and mandatory checks etc. are all now part and parcel of accepting someone for work experience. Write to your airline of choice with the backing of your school, you'll get further that way.

I am now 17 and I spent AGES trying to find a work experience placement in aviation when I was in year 10. There were lots of empty promises made, lots of guaranteed placements which never materialised! The key is just to keep nagging all the companies you can - it worked for me. In fact, the last website I stumbled across (by mistake!) was that of the company I got a two-week placement with at Luton, and it was great!
If you want any more info, email me: [email protected] and I will see whether I can help you - I have a couple of contacts here and there!
Good luck!
Leon
