PDP Planning

Hey all

Anyone in this community, has experience with PDP Planning.?
have a good example of a combination of aircraft type and city pair where they used PDP planning.?
The big difference between RCF planning and PDP appears to be within EASA regulation, that no Final reserve fuel is needed for PDP, then also Add. fuel has to be "
  1. for aeroplanes with turbine engines, fuel to fly for 2 hours at normal cruise consumption above the destination aerodrome, "

Is PDP planning arrised due to lack off alternate possibilities at some point, or what is the main purpose of having PDP as planning form, besides ERA,RCF as "special planning form".?

Before EASA, this was called “Island Reserve” or “Isolated Aerodrome Reserve”.

It was (is?) intended for use when the nearest useable alternate was too far to be within range or of dubious practical value and was normally applied to islands or places like Perth, Australia.

What does PDP stand for please?

Old school parlance of Island Holding Fuel, now known as Remote Field Fuel.
As you are talking EASA regs and not FAA, I take it that you still have an additional contingency % fuel and it not just included in the total fuel figure?
