Poor relations between Turkey and Cyprus

I have heard from quite a few friends living in Cyprus that at present and over the last few months that relations between Cyprus & Turkey have become quite difficult again and strained over lots of things.

There has been two instances recently where due to WX and medical diverts aircraft bound for Cyprus have had to land in Turkey and return to a Greek or Bulgarian airport to continue onto Cyprus.

I am sure it's just scaremongering by the Cypriot media who are claiming that Turkey may refuse permission for aircraft going to and from Cyprus to fly through their zones making aircraft going further West adding extra flying time. I do know recently there has been problems with AYT control being difficult to handover to Nicosia control and strange routings.
