LH/BD//IAG/BA at LHR
Hello all,
Any ideas as to what will happen to the LH/OS handling contracts that BD has at LHR once BD is eventually amalgamated into BA? As we all know, BA doesn't particularly wish to handle other airlines, particularly Star Alliance ones, presumably. Any companies in the running for these contracts yet?

That is a good question that most of us would have forgotten.
I think you are right in stating that BA wont really want to handle LH as much as LH wont want BA to handle them so I guess it will go to one of the handling agents. Its years since i worked at LHR in fact i think there were no handling agents there at the time. The airlines all handled themselves or were handled by other airlines in which they had some kind of deal.

LH, OS and 4U will be returning the Menzies.
The transfer starts on the 20th April with the Ticket desk staff returning to Menzies. There hasn't been a set date for check-in and ops transfer as yet but I'm guessing before the summer season ends.
Not sure about UN A3 or OZ at the mo.

Good old times, antonovman!
LHRKLBD - Very interesting about Menzies. So much for all the talk about Swissport, United, ASIG etc. Is this now fully, officially confirmed then? Any word about whether the MZ staff who were TUPEd to BD last year are going to remain with BD or TUPE back to MZ? If they all stay with BD, MZ have quite a lot of recruiting and training to do.
Any spare room in T3?

Anyone know how to fit 42 slot pairs into T5?

Well, from whats being discussed at LHR, is that all there dispatcher would be returning to Menzies as they never had the opitunity to be crossed trained onto Midland flights.
As for the passenger services agents they have been crossed trained over to midland so I'm not sure, however my understanding of the tuped agreement was that it was suspended within the first year then they would revert back to there old Menzies contracts. But this only what I've heard floating around Heathrow.

Ouch, unlucky. I bet they can all hardly contain their excitement.

And we all know that a lot of excrement floats around Heathrow.

I work as a Ramp Agent for Menzies. Any new news on the BA/BD situation? I've heard BA have asked (the right word??) OFJ to continue to provide GTS for the BD/BA flights. If that's true do you reckon Menzies will be continuing the handling of the BD flights?
