Work and rest time

Recently I got involved in a contract operation, and I am just wondering how things should be regarding work and rest time. So, here's the question;

Example:

You have a UK license, and let's say you're flying for a swedish operator with swedish registered aircrafts and AOC, and you are a flying there as a contractor (employed by a UK contracting agency)

What work and rest time limitations would apply to you?

the one from the company and the country you are flying for (sweden in this case)
- or -
The one from where you are employed? in this case the UK?

Is there anything written in the JAR or EU OPS or whatever?

Thanks!

I would have thought that it would be the company and country you are flying for. Their operations manuals would state what FTL has been authorised for their operation.
