FAA Dispatch to help land job in Europe (Austria)

Hello everyone,

I'm an FAA certificated commercial pilot and Flight Instructor. I'm living in Austria and would really like to get a job as a dispatcher here. So far I've found that my pilot certs have been a hindrance as the last place I applied said they don't hire pilots because they see the dispatch job as a springboard to the cockpit. I'm considering one of the dispatch schools in the States figuring that would at least show I'm serious about wanting to work as a dispatcher.

Any thoughts? Advice? Should I not bother with an FAA cert if my goal is a job in Austria?

Thanks!
