Flight dispatcher courses in EU?

Hi guys,
anybody can recommend/advise of any flight dispatchers courses in Europe preferably as home study with as little classroom as possible? Looks like Lufthansa stopped doing these courses.
Help much appreciated.
Thanx!

@mirmad

You can check avtech2000 which is base in UK for online studies, as far that i know only them are doing the flt dispatch course online but u need to take an exam when you complete. It's only gives you certs for City & Guild UK approved but not FAA.
If you need FAA approved you need to go to US to do it. I recommend Sheffield in Florida. The best step is to get a job first in baggage/ramp and work towards dispatching like i did 3 yrs ago.

Check this link avtech 2000 Qualifications

good luck

I am very much interested in doing a flight dispatchers course myself. It would be part time distance learning from home as I am in Dublin and currently have a full time job in the aviation industry. I can't seem to see anybody who does simular course here which is a shame as I am sure there must be a market.

Anyway I like the look of avtec2000. Has anybody completed a course with them on here ? if so i'd be grateful for any feedback as to how you found it. i am looking for something that will lead to a qualifation which will hold some weight in my internal job situation. Also anyone with any further company recommendations please feel free to share with us.

many thanks,

skyhigh

I am about 85% throught the AvTech200 Airline Ops and Dispatch course. Ive found it very informative and well constructed. As its distance learning you can do it in your own time, but based on 4 hours/week it should take 9-12 months. I've had considerably more time than that and have completed about 85% in 2 months. I found it very similar to an FAA Dispatchers course but more European based (i.e. RVR in M not ft!, etc...) Also it includes a section on Ramp Handling, which is good from a practical point of view. The only downside I would say is this: If you are studying and need a question answering or something clarifying, you will have to email them. Due to their workload you are unlikely to get a response for 3-5 days. I would imagine this to be similar in most distance learning environments, buy if you have planned a full day of studying and you're waiting for a response it can be very frustrating. But I would recommend the course. If I was given the option to complete the course full-time for 4-5 weeks, face to face in a classroom I would have definately taken that option.
