Urgent, Air traffic control good exposure to Pilot?

i am offered a job in Republic of Singapore Airforce as air traffic control and command, i did not make the cut for airforce pilot. but my ultimate goal is to become a pilot.

So is it good exposure to take up the job offer which is 4 years contract and save up some money before getting a CPL. By the time i get my CPL i would be 29 years old.

So what should i do?
