ETP(PET) and CP in Etops Segment

Hi All

Is there a difference where the CP is in an etops segment ?
Assuming there are two different etops suitable aerodrome
Likewise what is the difference now if there is ONLY one suitable airport
Is the CP now at the exit point ?

Correct me if my understanding is wrong
Is CP the worst case scenario in the critical fuel scenario ie IE,ID or 2D
or
just a point in the etops segment where it could be the ETP or exit point

Thanks in the advance for the clarification
