Eurocontrol DLA/SSM

hello

from your experience, when you're going to miss your slot, is it better to send a DLA or SMM? or is it the same (I mean in terms of nex slot allowance)

thanks

If you send an SMM your flight will be suspended until you send a DLA. So whats the point?
