Current situation for Dispatch courses in UK?

Could anyone tell me what the current situation is with courses for Flight Dispatch/Operations?
Apart from a PPL I have no experience of commercial aviation and would love to work in this field.

I am considering undertaking the avtech2000 Flight Dispatch/Operations course but earlier threads have indicated that this course had become outdated, has this been brought up to current knowledge requirements?

Is the course recognised with a vue to employment in the UK or would an FAA dispatch licence be more appropriate?

Are there any other organisations within the UK which offer dispatch training?

Also I am in my early 40's, would this be a major issue for employment especially as I have no experience as of yet?

Many thanks.
