Delta North Atlantic Plotting Chart
Hi, I flew on DL recently and after the flight the Captain gave me the paperwork from the flight (very nice of him). Upon having a closer look at the North Atlantic Plotting Chart, I noticed a line saying 'This chart [...] may not be reproduced, [...], without [...] written consent of the Senior Vice President - Flight Ops, Delta Air Lines, Inc.'
Am I going right in the assumption that I better not tell anybody that I have it? I actually planned to show a small excerpt from it on the internet (for flight simming purposes), but I don't want to bring myself/or the flight crew in trouble. Maybe someone who works for DAL can tell me if this would be tolerated or not. I know- the line is pretty clear, but the pilot didn't tell me to keep it under wraps (otherwhise, he probably would not have given it to me.)
Hope I posted this in the right section, if not, I would appreciate the topic being moved to the right place. Thanks in advance,
767forever.

You had better not reproduce it anywhere without permission for copyright reasons. You would have to have approach the chart publisher for their permission, who will either say yes and you have to add by kind permission of etc etc, or they will say no.

767, in your original post you have put exactly what the company requires to be allowed to reproduce this. Write to the company senior vice president as it tells you to do. This instruction is pretty clear. The ops department will not be able to tell you anything else but may help with his address or email address if that is what you want.

Yes, that is what I am trying to do now. I went to their homepage and wrote an e-mail to their general support (not much information avail. regarding their flight ops dept.). Hope they can redirect me.

Hope you get the permission you are seeking 767. There are a few versions of this chart that you can purchase from different charting companies. I used to work for someone, who is no longer alive unfortunately, who first designed a version of this chart to help with navigation on the north atlantic.

Yes, that would be nice if I could reach the Vice President of Flight ops, but if not that would be ok for me. I don't want to be greedy, it was already a nice gesture from the Captain to give me the paperwork

Hey guys, I just wanted to give you a heads-up. I received a response from Delta.
From the e-mail:
So it seems there is no way to get a hold of that person in question being just 'general public'.
I do respect their policy.
From the e-mail:
Regretfully, this information is not available to the public. As such,
I am unable to fulfill your request for a contact person. Additionally,
this information is confidential to Delta Air Lines and not released to
the general public.

In your first post you said you wanted to reproduce a portion. As you have been turned down for this, you could try chart providers to see if they would allow you to reproduce their product. They may like the publicity. just google Flight Progress Chart and you may find some providers. I would suggest one but it would be seen as advertising maybe.

It's probably Jepp. They do custom NA plotting charts for airlines all over the world. Stacks of 'em in my office. Probably the only thing "custom" about them is the ETOPS alts. are highlighted that each airline is fond of using ,the range rings surrounding them and the airline's logo on the front. I would think that most airlines plan the same ETOPS alts., EINN, BIKR, etc. See if you can get a generic one from them and plot your own. Maybe check Sporty's?
You might also want to look at Gerd Puppel pretty good information charts by Lufthansa Capt.Gerd Puppel. Maybe not so good for actual plotting.
We use a Jepp chart for NAT crossings. It has the enroute diversion airfield marked on it and also some of the NAT entry points. We draw our own etops thresholds and rule distances on it using a plastic plotting device that was invented by a former company chiel pilot. Some other UK operators also use Jepp and have more info marked on theirs and BA used to have their own tailored chart.

The guy was good enough to give you the chart for your own use, why on earth do you want to publish it on the net and potentially get him in trouble ? Grow up and keep it in your bedroom
