Swissport redundancy at STN

swissport are getting rid of 50 odd jobs on the ryanair contract at stansted.Apron managers,AAM, and team leaders(dispatchers) having to attend appraisal to keep their jobs. Those that dont keep their job are gonna be bumped down to gha level,so effectively the gha's are screwed.Union have said its illegal and have case histories where this was thrown out but swissport say they have case histories where it was allowed! Swissport have put in a new UK CEO who has been told he has to trim the staff down at all airports.Union said it will be impossible to run at stansted on that few people and CEO replied 'it will have to work,if it doesnt it will be sold' .Ironicly stansted is doing ok compared to others but they wanna do this across the board at all the airports they work

Heard that some bigshot from Ryanair came over a month or so ago and was talking to one of their pilots(who passed the info on..). When asked why he was visiting he said he was there to cut 25% off what they pay Swissport.Next thing you know Swissport are losing 96 positions...50 or so being from the ramp

Don't believe everything you hear..Its not that easy to just turn up and deduct 25% from a handling contract.
