Sterling 737s parked in TLL - but not a destination
Sterling (NB) went bankrupt in October and a number of their 737s are parked in Copenhagen, one of their many bases and the location of their corporate headquarters.
Yet, there are 2 or 3 737s parked in Tallinn, Estonia, which was never one of their destinations.
I am curious how it is decided where aircraft are parked following a bankruptcy. One answer may be that it was an Estonian lessor. Does the airline try to find the cheapest place to park them while the details are sorted out. Sterling did try to sell the airline and reemerge but was unsuccessful. Now, the brand has been sold to Danish regional carrier Cimber and the leases are to be renegotiated.
