POLICE are investigating the death of a woman, 63, who fell more than 6m from a 747-400 jet at the Brisbane International Airport this morning.

Emergency services were called to the airport at this morning after the airport employee fell from the aircraft to the ground.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokseman said the woman was loading catering on to a plane when she fell about 6m to the tarmac.

He said paramedics tried to revive the woman but she died on the tarmac.
Qantas Flight 175 was scheduled to depart from Brisbane to Los Angeles at 11am but was rescheduled to leave at 3.30pm, according to electronic flight schedule boards at the airport.

Police and catering employees spent the morning surrounding the Qantas jet and investigating the woman's death.

One man, who appeared to work for either the Airport or Qantas Airline Catering, could be seen showing police what had happened to the woman.
