Distance Learning?

I heard about the normal prep materials for the FAA written, but a complete course would be quite new to me.

IATA is offering a bunch of Distance Study stuff, but I don't know if this does include Flight Ops now.

Does any of the British folks know about a distance study programme in the U.K.?

Cheers

Thanks for replying. It's purely a shot in the dark as we normaly hire experienced people, but we have a person on staff who is very competent and would like to get into flight ops and we can neither spare the time to train them at the moment or to give them too much time off to train elsewhere.

A company called Avtech 2000 run a distant learning flight ops course leading to a city and guilds qualification. My friend is on it and it is very thorough.
Bare with me and I will post the contact details.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking, who do you work for. E-mail me if you like.

BJF,

understood. The DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung) is offering Flight Operations Refresher Courses over an 8 day period.

Also, I heard that some FAA schools do offer accelerated courses for qualified and pre-experienced staff (some as short as two weeks).

With a little bit of prior studying and the support of an experienced FOO it should be doable.

The Avtech 2000 alternative sounds interestin, 152. Could you post the details.

Thanks

BJF,

the DFS may be contacted as follows:

DFS Deutsche Flugsicherungs GmbH
Paul-Ehrlich Straße 37-39
63225 Langen

The woman in charge for marketing was/is Mrs. Stefanie Pietsch, email [email protected]

As for the accelerated courses, I would believe that quite a bunch of the bigger schools offers these now... try

www.sheffield.com
or some of the other schools mentioned on www.dispatcher.org...

Best regards
