I am currently an unemployed Ppruner, studying for JAR ATPL modules. I need to earn some money to keep body soula dn family together. Does anybody know of any jobs (either temporary or permanent) with any of the airlines, servicing or cargo companies based at Manchester Airport?

Hello Mate,

Ground handling is where most of the wannaby pilots end up. Servisair is your best bet they have a masssive turnover of staff. I haven't got any contact address's at this time but watch this space.

There is also a job centre for the airport on the ground floor of Commonwealth House which is near the train station

I've been lucky enough to of worked on the apron for the last 3 year's and enjoy it very much.

Just started my distance cource with
Bristol Ground School for my ATPL's

Good luck and don't give up

Why not try any of the operators at MAN
JMC / AMM / AIH, maybe looking for Ops Assist's - good place to start and gain some airline experiance.

Cheers

I believe there is a job fair next week at the airport but do not know what day.

If you ring the airport switch board they may be able to help

Thanks. For others in same boat, deatils are Atlantic Suite, Terminal 2 Manchester Airport 10am -4pm. I gather that most of teh jobs on offer are not with teh airlines but teh agents, claeners and food preparation. If any body can give me any direct leads on Ops Assistants I would be garteful. Does any body know the names of the airlines that have an operation department at MAN.

Aces Low...As far as I know Air 2000, JMC and Monarch all have ops departments at Manchester as well as Servisair Globe Ground and GHI of course. British Airways and British Midland have Ops/Traffic departments but tend to recruit from within....Would have thought your best bet was JMC..believe the pay is not too bad and have known a few people get jobs with them recently..try Air 2000 as well but their pay is not as good....!!!! Hope this helps!!!!!!!
